Presented by Castellino Training Foundation Teachers

Come meet the 10 Approved Castellino Foundation Training teachers who will be offering five new Castellino Foundation Trainings beginning in 2027 in the US West Coast, US East Coast, Spain/Europe, Japan, and Australia.

In this virtual workshop series we will introduce the work of PPN Somatics (Prenatal and Perinatal Somatics) as a therapeutic approach that addresses implicit somatic memories and trauma imprints established from pre-conception through birth and early attachment postpartum.

Pre- and Perinatal Somatics, a term coined by Ray Castellino, is a modality that combines energy work, somatic trauma awareness, and bodywork to help people integrate early developmental disruptions that impact lifelong health.

About The Essence of  Pre and Perinatal Somatics

Empty space, drag to resize

Experiences during preconception, at conception, throughout gestation, at birth, and in the period after birth can leave imprints that influence our physical, emotional, and nervous system health, beginning long before cognitive memory develops. These early experiences are held and expressed through our body in a way that can continue to shape how we perceive and meet ourselves, others, and the world.

During these five classes, we will explore how these early imprints develop and discover ways to connect to and strengthen the health already present in the system, while meeting and integrating our early experiences with greater awareness, support, compassion, and grace.

The classes will include presentations, experiential exercises, time for questions and comments, and opportunities to share and reflect together.

You will have an opportunity to meet the 10 Approved Castellino Foundation Training teachers who will be offering five new Castellino Foundation Trainings beginning in 2027 in the US West Coast, US East Coast, Spain/Europe, Japan, and Australia.

Join us to explore the fascinating field of Pre and Perinatal Somatics, deepen your understanding and practice, and experience some of the ways this work can support greater connection, integration, and health.

Session 1 - Preconception

Embracing Our Early History
Welcoming the Energies of New Beginnings

Before we were even conceived, a unique matrix of events was already in motion. We do not arrive in this world as blank slates; we are born into a profound historical continuum. To understand who we are—and who we are becoming—it is essential to look back at this sequential tapestry. Generations of lived experiences shaped the emotional and physical landscape we inherited long before our birth.

Preconception anchors its focus right here: at the intersection of our ancestral history and our future potential. We will start to examine the generational patterns that preceded us to understand how they influence our current choices, so that we have more space to differentiate and approach our new beginning.

Session 2 - Conception

The Family Field, Polarities Meetings, Coming into
Relationship &
Creation

Conscious conception is an invitation to welcome a spiritual being into a loving, connected family. This preparation begins before conception, as parents deepen their connection with themselves, each other, and the spirit of the child they hope to welcome.

In this class, we will explore the family field—the emotional, relational, and ancestral patterns that shape family life. By bringing awareness and compassion to old and often hidden wounds, we can create more inner spaciousness for love and belonging, offering a new being the support and freedom to grow into who they are.

Through a somatic and spiritual lens, bringing gentle awareness to this beginning offers an opportunity to deepen our own sense of welcome, connection, and belonging.

Session 3 - Gestation

Supporting Moms, Babies, and Families during
Pregnancy

Our time in the womb shapes our sense of safety, belonging, and secure attachment with mom and the whole family. It also informs our nervous system about the rhythms of activation and calmness. The womb is our home for around 9 months and it is where we, as sentient beings, start to develop our sense of self in this world.

We will be exploring specific skills for moms and the whole family to receive and give support, to co-regulate and to differentiate their own history from the present and what they wish to give to their child now that may not have been there in the past.

Session 4 - Birth

The Journey
into Being

Birth is a profound passage—from the intimacy of the womb into a new world of sensation, relationship, and connection.

Through gentle movement, breath, sound, and supported inquiry, we will explore themes of transition, support, effort, rest, and being welcomed.

Together, we will have space to notice our own rhythms: the impulse to move forward, the need to pause, and the experience of receiving support. The invitation is to meet what arises with curiosity and compassion, without needing to recover memories or recreate the birth experience.

Each person is encouraged to participate at their own pace, with room for stillness, reflection, and choice.

This will be an opportunity to deepen your relationship with your body and explore what it means to arrive, connect, and belong.

Session 5 - Post Birth

Integrating Our Journey,
Orienting to
Something New

The time after birth is a profound transition for the little one, the parents, and the relationship between them. There is a need for time and space to integrate the experience they have just been through, to sense and orient to the present moment, and to begin to find their way together as their relationship changes.

For the little one, this is the beginning of discovering life outside the womb — sensing and orienting to a new environment, a new way of being in their body, and the presence of their parents as beings separate from themselves. For the parents, there is also a process of finding their way into this new relationship and the many changes that come with having a newborn.

In this class, we will explore some of what this early integration can entail, and ways of supporting the newborn baby and parents as they orient, connect, and find their way together.
